How much is my kid using Their D97 device at school?

Update: Securly will be discontinued for the 2026-2027 school year in favor of AristotleK12 with parent portal. SSOP is pressing the district to more closely examine screen time data by school, grade level and classroom, and to share student screen time data in a more parent friendly manner. See our SSOP 6-step tip sheet below for setting up Screen Time boundaries on your D97 iPad. More resources (iPad and Chromebook) coming soon!

Did you know D97 offers parents the option to have a Securly account linked to your student’s district device? This was news to us! Securly allows you to monitor your child’s device use to see exactly what apps and sites they visit, right down to what they ask Google. (Sometimes hilarious, sometimes terrifying…) Learn more about Securly here and request account access by completing this D97 Google form.

Why is District 97 paying for this app, and not publicizing it? How many student devices actually have active Securly accounts? Many parents have never heard of Securly, despite email information overload from the district, schools, and teachers.

While we await better resources from the district, here are some helpful tip sheets put together by one of our capable parent volunteers:
